I HAVE A DREAM

MLK Day. Inauguration. Lot of ‘stuff’ going on.
Today is the perfect opportunity to remind you that Martin Luther King said,
“I HAVE A DREAM!!!”
He did not say, “I have a STRATEGIC PLAN.”
What’s your ‘DREAM’? VISION? BHAG’s?
What really, truly is your MESSAGE (at the highest level)?
What would you actually DO with $1 Million?
There’s a reason our incoming President’s message was around selling a ‘DREAM’… ‘YES, WE CAN.’ It works.
In the 35 years I’ve been banging around in this Third Sector, I don’t think there has ever been a time that it was more important to sell the DREAM… the VISION… and the IMPACT.

MLK also did not say: I HAVE A NIGHTMARE!
State visions, dreams, BHAGs in terms of positives, not negatives.
There are at least two ways of looking at everything. Who’s attracted to a negative message? Nobody.
