Nice to read such positive things, But reality is more different.After 10 000 contacts all over the world I did not made one dollar for budget.I lost one year with my group , but have important project of first youth social enterprise in Serbia Humanity is still not I thought…

Tom, great message, as always. I would also add to it that Americans are extremely generous, and that “old Europe,” Asia, and other parts of the world are also becoming far more philanthropic than in the past. People here are beginning to notice that they have more money than they need, even to live very very well, and that the government cannot/should not take care of everything. So, people are beginning to try to figure out how to make an impact here as well. Not-for-profit doesn’t have legs here (it is a US tax term)–impact seems to.

Just one question, though. What were you doing with Bill Gates in the shower?

There certainly is a convergence … it’s great stuff but I think people are still trying to figure out what to make of it. You have a bunch of different groups coming from their own traditional angles trying to reconcile ‘impact’.

- Social Enterprise
- ‘Sustainable’ Ventures
- Socially Conscious Organizations
- Nonprofits

Each sector is illustraing a unique give-and-take.

I think you’re on to something with this label – For Impact.
